Dr. Kase Lawal was born in Ibadan, Nigeria, a city of 3.8 million people located in Western Nigeria. He attended all his early schooling in Nigeria before moving to the United States in 1972 to join Texas Southern University. Dr. Lawal earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry from Texas Southern University and an MBA in finance and marketing from Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas.

He was awarded an honorary Doctorate in Philosophy from Fort Valley (Georgia) State University and an honorary doctorate in humane letters from Texas Southern University.

About Dr. KASE Lawal

Dr. Kase Lawal was born on 30th June 1954 in Ibadan Nigeria - the populous West African country where he attended early and middle school. He then travelled overseas to USA for further studies where he now works and lives. Dr. Lawal earned his Baccalaureate in Chemistry from Texas Southern University, USA and an later on a Master of Business Administration (finance and marketing) from Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, Texas USA. He was also awarded an honorary Doctorate in Philosophy from Fort Valley (Georgia) State University and an additional honorary doctorate in humane letters from Texas Southern University. He has made immense contributions to the University over time and is a distinguished alumnus of the institution.

Dr. Kase Lukman Lawal has also served as Chairman and CEO of CAMAC International Corporation. Dr. Kase Lawal has led a diverse group of affiliated companies that comprise the second largest African-American owned corporation in the United States. The companies' areas of interest lie mainly in the energy sector including exploration, drilling, production and marketing.

Dr. Kase Lawal also serves as a member of the National Urban League's Board of Directors and the Fisk University Board of Trustees. In addition, Dr. Lawal is a member of the board of directors and a majority shareholder in Unity National Bank, the only federally insured and licensed African American-owned bank in Texas. Dr. Kase Lawal has also served in the government of President Obama as a trade adviser.

Dr. Lawal has recently resigned from all executive officer positions with CAMAC International Corporation and its affiliated companies, including Allied Energy Plc, in order to focus on his new role as Chief Executive Officer of CAMAC Energy.

Kase Lukman Lawal is married to Eileen Lawal and has three children. Eileen is the group vice president of CAMAC International, a family-owned global energy services business. Eileen is a graduate of the University of Tulsa with a bachelor of Science degree. She resides in Houston with her husband, Kase Lawal, and children. An avid supporter of the arts, Eileen is a member of the executive board of directors for the Society of the Performing Arts. She is a founding board member on the soon to be constructed Houston Museum of African American Culture and member of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF's National Advisory Committee Board. Eileen is a co-chair for Discovery Green-Gala on the Green 2008, which marks the opening of Discovery Park in January.
